Current city lighting plan mainly divided into grid  lighting and renewable solar energy lighting.

Grid lighting is traditional choice for most city, and now it’s very mature in the world, but due to energy problems, some countries are quite hard to get the grid fully satisfied the residents daily need, and also the grid cost higher. So solar lights become popular with its grid free, no such grid line foundation construction limitation. For some big cities in Africa, they also turn to solar light, such in Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon,etc
